Walker Concludes Championship Run

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Aaron Walker was The Citadel's lone competitor in the 2017 NCAA Wrestling Championships that began on Thursday.
The graduate student from San Antonio, Texas, fell in the first round to Missouri's Joey Lavallee in the 157-pound bracket by a pin in 1 minute, 27 seconds.
Walker then faced off against Kent State's Casey Sparkman in the 157-lb. consolation bracket. He fell by a close 5-3 decision.
Thursday marked Walker's fourth consecutive appearance at the championships. He left his mark on The Citadel's program by earning 116 total career wins, fourth on the all-time list, and captured a perfect 28-0 career conference record.
