Cross Country Travels to Winthrop Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Following up a top-five finish at the Carolina Challenge, The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Rock Hill, South Carolina, to participate in the Winthrop Invitational hosted by Winthrop University.

WHEN: Men's race begins at 9 a.m. Women's race begins at 10 a.m.
TICKETS: Free Admission
PARTICIPANTS: Winthrop, Duke, USC Upstate, Wofford College, Presbyterian College, SC State
The men's team took fourth place overall in the prior week at the Carolina Challenge, and the women's team placed fifth.
The men's team will look to follow the lead of Senior Jamie Cunningham after he finished first for the Bulldogs at the Carolina Challenge, and 17th overall in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16 minutes, 53.20 seconds.
For the women's team, the underclassmen duo of Amber Opp and Casey Miller will aim their sights at first place after finishing in the top 25 at the Carolina Challenge.
