NINETY SIX, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team showed improvement in each of the three rounds of the Second Annual Blue Hose Match Play event. The event was held at The Patriot Golf Club (par-72, 6,121 yards)

How It Happened

·         The Citadel dropped its opening match to USC Upstate, 5.0-0.0.

·         Mackenzie Battle won the only match in the second round against Winthrop. The sophomore won her match 4&3.

·         The Bulldogs fell to the Eagles, 4.0-1.0.

·         Sophomore Sarah Smith and junior Nadia Sandler each won their third-round matches against UNC Asheville.

·         Smith won her match 3&2, while Sandler took her match by an identical score.

·         The Citadel would fall to the Bulldogs 3.0-2.0.

The Bulldogs return to action Oct. 28-29 when they travel to Spartanburg for the Wofford Terrier Intercollegiate.
