Gilstrap and Ikeda Lead Bulldogs on Final Day

KIAWAH, ISLAND, S.C. – Paige Gilstrap and Megan Ikeda each shot a final round 75 to lead The Citadel at CSU Buccaneer Inviational at the Oak Point Golf Club on Kiawah Island.

The Bulldogs final round total of 314 moved them up ahead of Presbyterian in the final stadnings.

How it Happened

The Bulldogs shot their best round of the tournament as they fired a final round 314. The score was 12 strokes better than Presbyterian, allowing the Bulldogs to pass the Blue Hose in the standings.
Megan Ikeda was consistent throughout her round. She began the day with six-straight pars. After a double bogey and a bogey, she rebounded to shoot par on each of the next 10 holes for her final round 75.
Paige Gilstrap started her day with eight-straight pars. She rebounded from a bogey at six to birdie the par-3 seventh.
Gilstrap ran into a little trouble at the turn, but rebounded with a birdie at No. 12 to finish with her low round of the tournament, 75.
Sarah Smith had her best round of the tournament with a final round 78. She was able to secure birdies at No. 4 and No. 14.
Freshman Lauren Sommerfeld also shot her best round of the tournament, shooting a final round 86.
Mirabella Calabrase shot an 86 in her only round of the tournament. She withdrew from yesterday's first two rounds due to illness.
