SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team improved by 11 shots in the second round of the Terrier Intercollegiate at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The Bulldogs shot an opening round 340 and followed it up with a second round 329.

How it Happened
- Megan Ikeda continued her consistent play this fall as she shot rounds of 76-77 to sit in a tie for 32nd after the first 36 holes.
- She shot even par on the front nine in the opening round, including a birdie at No. 6.
- Ikeda got off to a slow start in the second round as she was three over through three holes. She was able to bounce back to shoot a one-over par on the front nine.
- After her two birdies on the front nine, Ikeda started the back nine with back-to-back birdies to get to two over on the round.
- Paige Gilstrap got off to a slow start in the opening round, but was able to rebound to shoot a second-round 81. The round included three birdies, including back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12.
- Sarah Smith was much improved in the second round as she an 82.
- She got off to a quick start with birdies on one and four and was two under through seven holes.
- Mirabella Calabrase was consistent in her two rounds, shooting a pair of 89's.
- Lauren Sommerfeld was able to improve by eight shots in her second round, including a stretch of shooting one-over par through seven holes.
