How it Happened
- Dazjon Casto was the first Bulldog to take the mat in the consolation bracket, taking on No. 19 Andrew Cerniglia of Navy.
- The two wrestlers battled to the final buzzer as they both controlled from the top position in the final two periods.
- With the score tied 5-5 late in the match, Casto nearly rolled his opponent to his back. As the referee moved into position, the final buzzer sounded.
- Cerniglia was awarded the bonus point for riding time to take the match 6-5.
- Michael McAleavey opened his day by taking on No. 8 Brian Andrews of Wyoming.
- McAleavey went up 3-0 in the second period after an escape and a takedown before Andrews was forced to forfeit due to injury.
- McAleavey moved on the consolation seminfinals to take on AJ Nevills of South Dakota State. McAleavey fell behind early and his late attempt at a comeback came up short.
- The 7th place match did not take place as Mcaleavey was awarded the victory by forfeit.
- McAleavey becomes the first Bulldog to place at the Cliff Keen Invitational since Matt Frisch (149) placed sixth in 2014.
