OKATIE, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team sits in seventh place after the opening round of the Oldfield Intercollegiate at the Oldfield Golf Club in Okatie, South Carolina.

The Bulldogs shot an opening round 336.

How it Happened

Mackenzie Battle shot a team-best 78 in the opening round. She is tied for 10^th place heading into the final round on Sunday.
Battle led all players in the tournament by shooting one-under par on the par-5's.
She was also tied for the team lead with two birdies on the round.
Sarah Smith tied with Battle with a pair of birdies in the opening round.
Smith shot an opening round 82 and is tied for 24^th.
Paige Gilstrap is in 34^th place after the opening round. She recorded a pair of birdies on her way to shooting an 86.
Jesse Harbaugh shot an opening round 94 in her first collegiate tournament.
