KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team shot an opening-round 319 and followed it up with a 320 in the second round to sit in ninth place at the 2021 Southern Conference Championships at the Oak Point Course on Kiawah Island.

How it Happened

Paige Gilstrap got off to a strong start as she shot a three-over par 39 on both nines of the opening round.
Her round was aided by a birdie on the par-4 14^th.
Megan Ikeda also birdied the 14^th hole on her way to a two-over par 38 on her opening nine.
Mackenzie Battle registered a pair of birdies in the opening round. She birdied the par-5 12^th and the par-4 3^rd.
Battle led the way in the second round by shooting a 78.
She finished the round with three birdies. She birdied the 17^th hole on the back nine, then ended her day with birdies at five and seven. She played her final seven holes at two-under par.
Nadia Sandler was able to record a birdie on both sides of the course in round two. She birdied the par-3 15^th and the par-3 7^th.
