CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel mixed rifle team opened the season against Jacksonville State, falling 4,549-4,652, to the Gamecocks Saturday morning inside the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
 
Charlotte Welsh led the Bulldogs with an aggregate score of 1,144 to finish eighth. Emily Perkins finished 10^th with a score of 1,138.
 
Smallbore Results

• The Bulldogs totaled a score of 2,239 in smallbore.
• Freshman James Hart led the Bulldogs with a score of 569.
• Emily Perkins placed 10^th with a score of 560.
• She was followed closely by teammate Charlotte Welsh who shot a 558.
• Cameron Bates finished a score of 552.
• Jack Wittman closed out the scoring with a 549.

 
Air Rifle Results

• The Bulldogs totaled a score of 2,310 in air rifle.
• Charlotte Welsh led the way with a score of 586 to finish third.
• Emily Perkins and Cameron Bates each finished with a score of 578.
• James Hart and Jack Wittman also finished with matching scores, both shooting 568.
