STATESBORO, Ga. – The Citadel rifle squad began the 2022 stretch of its campaign at Georgia Southern, with narrow defeats in both the smallbore and air rifle events accounting for a 4603-4550 win for the Eagles.
 
Cameron Bates was the Bulldogs' top individual finisher in third place with 1150 total points, behind the Eagles' Ashley Judson (1160 points) and Erin Ballard (1156 points), who also took the top two respective spots in both events.
 
Smallbore Results

• The Bulldogs finished with a score of 2254 as Georgia Southern narrowly won the event with 2278 points.
• James Hart IV led The Citadel in fourth place with 570 points
• Cameron Bates finished fifth with a score of 568.
• Charlotte Welsh placed sixth with 566 points.
• Jack Wittman earned eighth place with 550 points.

 
Air Rifle Results

• Cameron Bates took third to lead the team with 582 points.
• James Hart IV and Charlotte Welsh tied for fifth logging 578 points.
• Daniel Shapiro ranked tenth with 558 points.
• Jack Wittman took 11th after posting 539 points.
