GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team battled through 36 holes on the first day of the Charleston Southern Buccaneer Invitational at the Crowfield Golf Club in Goose Creek.

The Bulldogs shot an opening-round 349, and followed it up by shooting a 357 in the second round.

How it Happened

Paige Gilstrap led the Bulldogs on the opening 18 by shooting an 83. Her round featured a birdie on the par-5 7^th hole.
Gilstrap's younger sister, Maggie Parmer, began her tournament with an opening round tournament. Like her sister, Parmer birdied the part-5 7^th.
In addition, Parmer recorded her second birdie of the round on the par-5 11^th.
Gilstrap and Parmer each added a birdie in their second rounds.
Naomi Huang birdied the par-3 13^th hole on her way to an opening-round 87.
Lauren Sommerfeld improved in her second round and she shot an 84 to improve by seven shots from the opening round.
