Women's Golf Concludes Competition at UNCG Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Citadel women's golf team closed out a full two-day competition at the UNCG Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, finishing 20th as a team at the Grandover Resort Golf Course. High Point scored the only sub-par mark, posting a six-under for the course, with Richmond, host UNCG and Georgetown rounding out the top four. The Bulldogs concluded the event with a plus-120 overall.
Megan Ikeda led The Citadel with a final plus-20 over three rounds, tying for 73rd on the individual leaderboard. Maggie Palmer slid in at 88th off a plus-26 while Paige Gilstrap (+36), Naomi Huang (+45) and Sofia Vargas (+49) notched t-99th, 105th and 106th, respectively.
Next up, the Bulldogs head to the Edisto Island Invitational back in the Low Country, a two-day event hosted by College of Charleston set for Monday, Oct. 17 through Tuesday, Oct. 17.
