Stemmet Tabbed for The Brigadier Foundation President’s Award

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Graduating senior wrestling cadet-athlete Ben Stemmet received the prestigious Brigadier Foundation President's Award, announced Thursday afternoon.
The Brigadier Foundation President's Award recognizes a senior athlete who has contributed the most to The Citadel's athletic program and the Corps of Cadets. Members of the graduating class vote for the award recipient each year.
"Ben has been a staple of The Citadel Wrestling Program for the past four seasons on and off the mat," The Citadel head wrestling coach Ryan LeBlanc said. "This award is a testament to his commitment and work ethic in all areas in of his life. I'm proud to have been in his corner and I'm excited to see what he does next."
During his career as a Bulldog, Stemmet posted a pair of key placements -- third in 2024; fourth in 2021 -- at the Southern Conference Championships and managed to finish this past campaign with the second most wins along with the top fall total (8). He secured NWCA Academic All-American honors following the 2023-24 season while also acting as a four-time SoCon All-Academic team choice.
