BOONE, N.C. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams returned to action at the Fire Tower Project on Friday afternoon.
Carson Diggs led The Citadel as the top finisher, finishing 49th overall with a time of 26:34.9, contributing to the men's team placing eighth overall.
Brylee Deering and
Abigail Thiessen were the top performers for the women's team, with Deering finishing in 25:28.6 and Thiessen in 25:29.1.
The mountains are a special place, and our team needs to get there as often as possible," said head coach
Marie Domin. "Having a few PRs and two Top 25 all-time 6Ks is great on that terrain, but even better was the day after, when the team ran from Moses Cone to Fire Tower — one of my all-time favorite trails."
Carson Diggs is knocking down the door, just seconds off the all-time list on a demanding course. Looking forward to McAlpine Park for the Royals Challenge."
