SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel's Dillon McCarthy was chosen as the Southern Conference men's field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
 
This marks the first honor for McCarthy as a Bulldog and the first track and field Athlete of the Week for the Bulldogs in the indoor season.
 
The native from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, finished second overall at the USC invite in the pole vault with a PR of 16-1.75 to earn the second spot all-time.
 
McCarthy ranks fifth in the SoCon, heading into the 2025 Southern Conference Indoor Championships.
