CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston RiverDogs presented The Citadel with the 2025 T. Ashton Phillips Award for service.
The presentation took place before the Charleston RiverDogs game against the Augusta GreenJackets, with Director of Athletics
Art Chase and Head Baseball Coach
Russell Triplett accepting the award on behalf of The Citadel.
"First and foremost, we could not be more appreciative of the Phillips family, Dave Echols and the Charleston RiverDogs for their partnership and contributions to baseball in the Lowcountry," Chase said. "We are humbled and honored to receive this honor as we strive to make a consistent, positive impact on our community."
The club presents the citation each year in memory of one of their co-owners, T. Ashton Phillips. Phillips, who passed away in 2006, was a successful businessman and philanthropist who strongly believed in giving back to the local community.
