BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – The Citadel golf program concluded the final round of competition at the Southern Conference Golf Championships on Wednesday afternoon, closing out the third day 41-over en route to ninth overall on the team leaderboard behind an 127-over combined mark at the Columbia Country Club.
FINAL RESULTS
Individually,
Lola Barnett posted a 22-over performance for the tournament, pacing the Bulldogs across all three days and notably moving up two spots during the last round to clinch 31st on the final leaderboard.
Sofia Vargas shot her best golf on Wednesday at 7-over, bringing her combined total to 32-over and slotting in the junior at 35th overall following a three-rung jump during the third round.
Madyson Riley posted a 35-over showing en route to 36th while
Chaela Barnett (38-over, 37th) and
Naomi Huang (50-over, 39th) rounded out scoring roster for The Citadel.
"I'm really proud of how we performed at the conference tournament," head coach
Lori Bonacci said. "The team showed tremendous growth, achieved several personal bests, and demonstrated what we're capable of with 16 birdies highlighted by some truly exceptional shots."
Up next, the Bulldogs shift gears towards the offseason as preparation begins in earnest for the upcoming 2026-27 golf campaign.
