CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Director of Cross Country and Track & Field
Kris Kut announced the 2026 schedule for The Citadel men's and women's cross country programs Tuesday, highlighted by four regular-season meets leading up to the Southern Conference Championships and the NCAA Southeast Regional.
The Bulldogs officially begin competition at the Buccaneer Open on Sept. 4 in Ladson, S.C., an annual meet hosted by Charleston Southern.
The schedule continues with the Queens City Invite in Charlotte, N.C., on Sept. 11, followed by a trip to Conway, S.C., for the Chanticleer Challenge on Sept. 18, hosted by Coastal Carolina.
After an open week, the Bulldogs head to Atlanta, Ga., for the Georgia Tech Invitational on Oct. 2. Following an open stretch during Parents' Weekend, the team returns to action at the Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C., on Oct. 17.
Postseason competition begins on Oct. 31 with the Southern Conference Championships, held at the Tryon Equestrian Center in Tryon, N.C.
The season concludes on Nov. 13 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Spartanburg, S.C., hosted by USC Upstate.

It provides us with an opportunity to compete locally against strong programs like Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina, while also allowing us to preview the NCAA Southeast Regional course at USC Upstate," said the Director of XC/Track & Field
Kris Kut. "We're especially excited about making the trip to Georgia Tech, where our student-athletes will have the chance to compete against one of the most talented fields we'll see all season. Racing at that level will provide invaluable experience and help prepare our team for championship competition."

That experience will be a tremendous advantage as we prepare for the postseason."
