Golf Releases 2026-27 Season Slate, Opens Campaign Sunday

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel golf program officially released the upcoming 2026-27 fall and spring schedules, teeing off the season with the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational on Sept. 6-7 before closing out the campaign in mid-April with the Southern Conference Championship in Blythewood, S.C.
Headlined by a four returning veterans, including notable contributors Lola Barnett, Teryn Dalton, Madyson Riley and Sofia Vargas, the Bulldogs take aim at challenging for a SoCon title after yet-another a competitive slate throughout the fall and spring.
"I'm really excited about the upcoming schedule and the opportunities it will provide our team," head coach Lori Bonacci said. "With four new freshmen joining the program, there's a lot of energy and excitement around this group. They bring new talent, competitiveness, and a great attitude, and we're looking forward to seeing how they develop alongside our returning players."
Across 19 seasons running The Citadel golf program, Bonacci has served as a constant for her teams both on and off the course while also acting as the founder of the annual Oyster Shuck Match Play, the only event hosted by the Bulldogs every year.
The Bulldogs ignite the year with four events throughout the fall, traveling to the opener at Coastal Georgia before battling in two-day tournaments at Elon (Elon Invitational) and College of Charleston (Edisto Island Invitational) and wrapping up with a trip south to Florida International in late October (Pat Bradley Invitational).
For the spring, The Citadel opens the new year by hosting their annual Oyster Shuck Match Play in early February before facing three consecutive road tournaments -- at Charleston Southern (RiverTowne Intercollegiate), at Howard (Lady Bison Spring Invitational) & at Wofford (Lowcountry Intercollegiate) -- in preparation for the Southern Conference Championship on April 19-21 in Blythwood, S.C.
