FINAL RESULTS
"We saw a lot of positives from our team in this tournament, especially from our freshman, who stepped up and played some really impressive golf," head coach Lori Bonacci said. "It was great to see their confidence and ability come through on a challenging course, and the support from our upperclassmen throughout the tournament made a big difference. Our upperclassman continue to do a great job of leading, encouraging, and helping our younger players grow. We learned a lot from this event and we will use that to continue improving with each tournament."
Individually, freshman Bianka Goerke impressed with a solid final round, hitting a team-best one-over par on the final day to move up 18 positions to t-18th for the tournament, wrapping up the event at 10-over. Taryn Smoak and Lola Barnett finished in a tie for 60th after hitting 26-over across the two-day sequence while Piper Meredith notched 65th via her 28-over performance. Finally, Sofia Vargas posted 45-over for 78th on the final leaderboard to round out the Bulldogs' scorers.
Up next, The Citadel stays local for the Edisto Island Invitational hosted by College of Charleston, facing three rounds out on the links across Monday, Oct. 19 and Tuesday, Oct. 20.
