Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel track and field team returns to the track when they travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. on March 19-20 for the Shamrock Invitational, hosted by Coastal Carolina University. Friday's events begin with the hammer at 11 a.m. while running events begin at 3:30 p.m. with the 100-meter dash.
The Last Run
The Bulldogs teamed up with College of Charleston to host the Palmetto Classic on March 12. The Bulldogs had a total of seven first place finishes in various events. Christopher Castagno broke the school record in the hammer with a throw of 163' 0" while Atom Young finished first in the 3,000-meters with a time of 9:07.00.
Quintin Turner tossed 138' 3" in the discus for first place and Carl Carruth won the shot put. David Miller, Daniel Till, Christian Graham and Benjamin McCoy ran a time of 41.89 seconds in the 4x400-meter relay to place first.
For the women, senior Natalie Wolin finished first in the 5,000-meters with a time of 18:38.45 and Monique Edwards won the hammer with a mark of 150' 3".
