Will LeMieux is in his first season as volunteer cross country and track and field coach at The Citadel after joining the staff last January. LeMieux works primarily with the middle distance and distance athletes.
He earned an undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in military science at West Virginia University in May 2009, graduating cum laude. LeMieux participated in Army ROTC while attending WVU and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army.
LeMieux came to The Citadel after six years as an active duty Field Artillery officer in the United States Army where he represented and coached the Fort Sill and Fort Bragg Army Ten Mile teams, respectively.
He attends the Citadel as a graduate student pursuing his master’s degree in clinical counseling, and also serves as a graduate assistant in the health, exercise, and sport science department teaching various required physical education courses.
LeMieux continues his athletic pursuits in endurance events and has competed in distances ranging from 50K to 300+ mile multi-day events holding numerous course records. In July, 2016, he represented The Citadel at the Badwater 135, completing the 135-mile ultramarathon in Death Valley, California.
