Biography

SENIOR (2015): Wrapped up her career with 849 kills (2.19 per set), 640 digs, 109 total blocks, 46 service aces and 40 assists… As a senior, was second on the team in kills (338), digs (313) and service aces (23) while chipping in 36 total blocks and 13 assists… Only Bulldog to start all 35 matches in 2015 and played in 130 sets, which is the second-most in a single season in program history… Finished her time at The Citadel ranked ninth in school history in career kills, 11th in career kills per set and 15th in career digs… Posted three double-doubles in the Bulldogs’ first five matches of the campaign, highlighted by a 10-kill, 12-dig performance in a 3-1 win over Siena… Notched 14 kills and 12 digs to propel The Citadel to a victory against Alabama A&M… Dominated vs. Charleston Southern with 19 kills behind a .350 attack percentage and 17 digs… Helped the Bulldogs down Savannah State with a double-double, posting 10 kills and 13 digs… Had 14 kills, 11 digs and three total blocks at Chattanooga… Finished her career in style with 18 digs vs. Western Carolina in the SoCon tournament.

JUNIOR (2014): Led The Citadel with 266 kills (2.61 kills / set) in 862 total attacks while ranking in the top five of service aces (17, 3rd), total blocks (33, 3rd) and digs (142, 5th) … second time in as many seasons that she has ranked in the top five in kills … topped the Bulldogs in kills on 14 occasions including a pair of career-high 16-kill outings against Alabama State (Sept. 12) and Wofford (Nov. 22) … turned in a 14-kill (.464 hitting percentage), 11-dig outing that also included three assisted blocks against Southeast Missouri at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup 2 … posted five double-digit kill outings in a six-match stretch that began with 16 against Alabama State, where she was also responsible for 13 kills, three assisted blocks and two solo blocks … also enjoyed a 15-kill (.398 attack percentage), 11-dig match against Norfolk State at the Carolina Classic on Sept. 19 … tallied her first double figure kill outing of the season against a Southern Conference  opponent on Oct. 4 at Samford when she posted 11 … emerged with 11 kills and six digs in a meeting with Mercer ... led The Citadel with 14 kills in a four-set clash against East Tennessee State (Nov. 14), ending league play with a team-high 114 kills (2.43 kills / set) … capped off her first appearance at the SoCon Tournament by posting 16 kills, seven digs and two assisted blocks.

SOPHOMORE (2013): Appeared in 98 sets over the course of the season where she ranked in the top three of kills per set (1st-1.70), kills (2nd-167) and total attacks (1st-621) … posted a .545 attack percentage following six kills in 11 total attacks against Austin Peay State … notched her second career double-double (15 kills, 14 digs) while posting a .414 attack percentage in The Citadel’s home-opener against Charleston Southern … came through with nine kills, five digs and one assisted block in the Dogs’ sweep of South Carolina State at The Citadel Invitational … earned Citadel Invitational All-Tournament honors after posting five kills and five digs against DePaul and following with seven kills and four digs against Radford … tallied eight kills, three digs and a .261 attack percentage in the three-set sweep of Bethune-Cookman at the Winthrop Tournament … posted her third career double-double (15 kills, 15, digs) as she was highly efficient (.300 attack percentage) against Elon in the first weekend of SoCon action … contributed 10 digs and six kills during the Dogs match at Western Carolina … registered a .438 attack percentage (eight kills, 16 total attacks) at Appalachian State … recorded nine kills and eight digs in a three-set setback at Furman … closed out the 2013 season with an 11-dig, nine-kill outing against Western Carolina.
 
FRESHMAN (2012): One of three freshmen on The Citadel roster to play in at least 55 sets during the 2012 campaign … made her presence felt in her debut as she finished with 11 digs, 10 kills, five assisted blocks and a .308 attack percentage against Radford … drove home six kills and posted one solo and one assisted block in a meeting with St. Francis (Pa.) … emerged with four kills in 14 total attacks in the Dogs’ five-set win over Stetson … proved to be a valuable part of the rotation with four and five kills against SoCon foes Davidson and Furman, respectively … her four kills in seven attacks against Davidson marked the best attack percentage (.571) of the season … recorded five kills, two digs and one assisted block in two sets against Chattanooga … posted seven kills, four digs and a .357 attack percentage at Appalachian State … contributed seven kills, two assisted blocks and two digs in a three-set victory over Savannah State to close out the month of October.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Bailey led her Nation Ford HS team to the 2010 3A State Championship … recognized as an all-region and all-state player in 2010 and 2011 … holds the school and region record in hitting percentage and kills … a three-year starter for Nation Ford HS at the middle hitter position … played with both the Carolina Juniors (2010-11) and Carolina Union (2011-12) clubs over the last two seasons.
 
PERSONAL: Bailey Madison Kernodle ... daughter of Chris and Natalie Jester and Cameron and Monetha Cobb ... chose to attend The Citadel over College of Charleston and South Carolina ... her father and uncle were both cheerleaders at N.C. State … major is exercise science … has one sibling (Cameron Cobb, Jr.).
