Aliyah Duren joined The Citadel department of athletics in the summer of 2020 as a resident athletic trainer. She works primarily with the Bulldogs’ wrestling team.
Duren most recently completed an internship from June 2019 – April 2020 with the UNC Charlotte athletics department, working with the football team. She helped with practice coverage, injury evaluation rehabilitation, communication, documentation and transport of student-athletes.
Prior to her time with the 49ers, Duren was an athletic training student at UNC Charlotte, working with Fuquay-Varina High School, Capitol City Speech Therapy, and Daniel Dhers Action Sports Complex, while also serving as an intern with Universal Healthcare of Fuquay-Varina and Fuquay Chiropractic and Wellness Center.
Duren, who graduated from Charlotte in May 2019 with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, is currently working on a Master’s in Business Administration at The Citadel. She is certified in Emergency Medical Response, administering emergency oxygen, has bloodborne pathogens training, and is CPR and AED certified by the American Red Cross.
