Jacob Sartorio joined The Citadel Athletics in September of 2024 serving as an Athletic Academic Advisor and as an assistant coach for wrestling program. Sartorio assists student-athletes in the classroom as well as contributing to the success of The Citadel upper-weights.
Prior to The Citadel, the Walnut Creek, Calif., native was a prep wrestling standout for Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord, Calif. In only his second year ever wrestling, Jacob placed at the California State Wrestling championships, finishing 8th in the 285 lbs weight class. After high school, he continued wrestling at Fresno City College where he competed in the 285-pound weight class while obtaining an associate's degree in Kinesiology.
After Fresno City, Sartorio transferred to Appalachian State where he continued to wrestle, competing in the 285 lbs weight class where he was a two-time Southern Conference finalist, compiling over 50 wins in his three seasons with the Mountaineers. During his time at App State, the wrestling team won three Southern Conference championships and were ranked in the top 25 for two years.
Sartorio graduated from Appalachian State in May of 2024 with a bachelor's in communication studies and a minor in sports science & coaching.
