A graduate of West Virginia University, Boyd earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Boyd is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sport Management at The Citadel. His dedication is evident in his consistent performance. His 2023-24 season was marked by significant achievements, including a second-place finish at the Southern Conference Championship, a third-place showing at the Navy Classic, and decisive victories over opponents from Millersville, Duke, Queens, Brown, VMI, Chattanooga, Campbell, Davidson, and Gardner-Webb.
In 2021-22, he earned NWCA Scholar All-American and Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors, while also placing eighth at the Big 12 Championship and the prestigious Southern Scuffle. His 2020-21 season was highlighted by Academic All-Big 12 First Team and Scholar All-American recognition, along with a key victory over a nationally ranked opponent.
Prior to his collegiate career, Boyd was a standout wrestler at Erie McDowell Senior High, where he was a three-time team captain and four-time Pennsylvania state qualifier. He capped his high school career with a 99-22 record, including a 2018 PIAA Class 3A State Championship title. Academically, Boyd has been recognized on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll.
