FRESHMAN (2015-16): Concluded freshman year with 12-22 record and a 2-4 mark in SoCon competition … started off career with four straight wins to take first place at The Citadel Open (11/1) … lost first match at Wolfpack Open (11/22) but fought back through consolation bracket to finish in the semis, defeating Brooks Wilding (Virginia Tech) and Stacey Davis (NC State) in the process … posted a 5-4 victory over Matthew Olauson (Campbell) at the Virginia Duals (1/9) … topped Blake Bunce (Merchant Marine) by 8-3 decision at All-Academy Championships (1/30) … earned second SoCon victory of the year with 6-2 win over Nathaniel Powers (Davidson) … defeated Alex Vosburgh (Campbell) for the second time that season in the SoCon Championship.

HIGH SCHOOL: Held a 46-6 record over his senior year in which he was a state and district runner-up, along with a Suburban League Champion … finished in fifth place in the state his junior year and was the district and sectional champion … Was a district runner-up and state qualifier his sophomore year ... earned for letters in wrestling and one letter in baseball.

PERSONAL: A 2015 graduate of Wadsworth High School … son of Tim Knipl and Mary Ruse … plans on majoring in education
