Johnathan Medlin joined the men’s basketball coaching staff as a graduate manager in the summer of 2025.
Medlin joins the staff from East Carolina University, where he served as the head undergraduate manager from 2023-25. His role at ECU consisted of overseeing 13 student managers while assisting in player development, scouting and in-game strategy. He was a part of the coaching staff that led the Pirates to two American Athletic Conference Championship quarterfinal appearances.
He played football at Lenoir-Rhyne University (NCAA Division II) in Hickory, North Carolina from 2021-23. He was a part of the NCAA Playoff team as a redshirt in 2021 before taking over starting kicker duties in 2022, setting multiple single season school records along the way.
The Greensboro native has additional experience interning with the ACC for its Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments as well as the Greensboro Grasshoppers, Carolina Cobras and Big South Conference.
Medlin graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a concentration in media studies. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in sport management from The Citadel.
