Ted Bagwell enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach with The Citadel men's tennis program in 2026-27 after completing a four-year playing career with the Bulldogs.

Bagwell concluded his collegiate career as one of the program's veteran leaders and was named the 2025 Southern Conference Don Bunch/Buddy Hartsell Sportsmanship Award recipient, becoming the first Bulldog to earn the honor since 2004.

During his four seasons at The Citadel, Bagwell competed throughout the singles and doubles lineup. He recorded 14 singles victories as a freshman and earned 17 doubles wins during the 2024 season while competing primarily at the No. 2 doubles position. In his senior campaign, he collected four singles victories and seven doubles wins while helping mentor a young Bulldog roster.

As a player, Bagwell was recognized for his leadership, consistency and commitment to the program both on and off the court. Following his playing career, he transitioned into coaching while pursuing a master's degree in Project Management at The Citadel.

A native of Douglas, Georgia, Bagwell attended Coffee High School, where he compiled a 69-2 career record. He was named 912 Magazine Tennis Player of the Year in each of his four seasons and helped lead his team to Georgia State Final Four appearances during his freshman and junior years.

Bagwell earned his bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from The Citadel.

He is the son of Lee and Holly Bagwell. His mother, Holly, played collegiate tennis at Brewton-Parker College.
