Terriers Nip Bulldogs In Three Straight

CHARLESTON, S.C.- The Citadel Volleyball team fell in three straight games to in-state and Southern Conference rival Wofford (19-25, 21-25, 27-29) at McAlister Field House. Seeking to avenge a home loss to the Terriers in 2008, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome Wofford's Stacy Byrd 19 kill, 17 dig performance.

The Citadel (3-15, 0-3) was led by the combination of Tatum Jestila and Rachael Farrell, each with nine kills. Jestila added 22 digs, a game-high, allowing the Bulldogs to hold a 75-69 advantage in digs. Teammate Jessica Maas recorded 17 digs and Alyssa Holum added 14 digs along with 27 assists.

The productivity of Byrd, Sarah Palmer (15 digs) and Joanna Sudduth (35 assists, 11 digs) carried Wofford in the match. The Terriers improve to 15-3 on the season, 2-1 in SoCon action.

The Citadel continues its homestand on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m., hosting Furman.
