Charleston, SC - The Kevin Higgins era is set to begin at The Citadel as the 2005 Bulldog football team begins preparations for the upcoming season with the first preseason practice slated for 2:00 pm Monday afternoon.

The Bulldogs first four practices will be in shorts and shells according to new NCAA legislation. Coach Higgins will get his first look at his team in full pads on Friday, August 12.

The 2005 team is highlighted by preseason All-Southern Conference picks Shawn Grant, Fred Townsend and Rontreal Tyler. Coach Higgins' squad returns 41 lettermen, 18 on offense and 23 on the defensive side of the ball, while also returning nine starters on offense and seven on defense.
