Willson Field and Track
Willson Field and track is located at the back of The Citadel’s campus and serves as the practice area for Citadel football and track and field.
The facility is also used by the Corps of Cadets for PT, as well as The Citadel club lacrosse and rugby teams.
In the summer of 2018, the facility received a major upgrade with a new artificial surface on the field and a new track surface on the outside. The artificial turf was installed by Baseline Sports Construction, LLC, the same company that installed the artificial surface inside Johnson Hagood Stadium.
The artificial surface replaced the old turf that was installed in 2007.
The field is equipped with three filming towers. There are permanent structures located in each end zone, as well as one at midfield.
The facility has an adjacent grass field that is used for football, as well as throwing events for track and field.
