Dr. Moore ('71) was enshrined as an honorary member. A former president and lifetime member of The Citadel Football Association, Dr. Moore, a native of Kentucky, came to The Citadel to play football for coach Red Parker and throw the discuss in track and field. A lifetime member of The Citadel Alumni Association, Dr. Moore is a lifelong supporter and continues to be involved with The Citadel Brigadier Foundation. Upon graduating from The Citadel, he finished medical school at the University of Louisville. Specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Moore was included in the "Top 1 percent of physicians in his profession" by The Castle Connelly Committee which featured him in a 2013 issue of US News and World Report. Dr. Moore is currently the Chief Thoracic Surgeon at Northside Hospital in Atlanta while also serving as the director of the Northside Cancer Center, lung cancer program.
