Low Country Intercollegiate First Round Results

Hilton Head, S.C. – Behind an opening round 82 by sophomore Erica Pellegrini, The Citadel golf team wrapped up Sunday's opening round of the Low Country Intercollegiate in 14th place with a combined team score of 340.

Pellegrini (+10) is locked in a six-way tie for 39th, after firing a pair of 41s at the par-72, 5,853-yard South Course at Moss Creek Golf Club.

Meanwhile, Cadets Alanna-Jean Keith (84, +12) and TaKima Butler (86, +14), placed themselves in 51st and 58th, respectively.

Rounding out team scores for the Bulldogs were Bree Baumgartner (88, +16) and Kellie Anderson (88, +16), making way for a seven-way logjam in 62nd place.

Southern Conference rival Appalachian State fired a 313 (+25) to hold a one-shot lead over Jacksonville State (314, +26). Also within striking distance are Radford, Newberry and Presbyterian College, who shot a 316 (+28) and enter Monday's action in a tie for third.

The top of the individual leaderboard is shared by the trio of Maria Luz Besio (Newberry), Wonji Choi (Princeton) and Alex Hendricks (Wofford), who each fired a 74 (+2).
