Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel track and field team is set to compete in its third outdoor meet of the season on Friday when the Bulldogs travel to Statesboro, Ga., for the Georgia Southern Invite.
The meet will be on a rolling schedule with the field events beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the running events at 12:15. Aside from The Citadel and host Georgia Southern, the meet will also include USC-Beaufort and conference foe College of Charleston.

2013 GSU Invite Outlook
The women's 4x400 team of Micah Wessinger, Danielle Williams, Danielle McKee and Tanisha Bethel will take the track for the first time since breaking the school record in the event a week ago at the Palmetto Classic in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Individually, McKee and Wessinger will compete in the 800, while Williams is scheduled to take the track for the 400 and Bethel in the 200.
Freshmen distance runners Caillian Colquitt and Jessica DeWitte look to improve on their top-10 times in the 5,000, while junior Andi Love will throw the hammer, javelin and shot put for the women.
Nicole Levermann is scheduled to participate in the high jump, shot put, javelin and 100 in preparation for the multi-events at the 2013 Outdoor Southern Conference meet, which will also be hosted by Georgia Southern on April 20-21.
The men's 4x100 team of Keith Cummings, Tevin Williams, Kevin Poland and Valian Brown hit the track for the first time this season, while Bethel, Williams, Chalita Johnson and Taylor Viana will handle the women's sprint relay.
The men's field events will be performed by Geno Porter (hammer, javelin and shot put), Capers Williamson (javelin), Eddie Jones (triple jump and long jump) and Valian Brown (triple jump).
Atom Young and Raeven Lantz will run the 3,000 steeplechase for the first time this season.
