Bulldogs Complete Action at CofC Classic

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams finished third and seventh, respectively, in the College of Charleston Classic on Friday afternoon.
Michael Lantz led the way for the men's team, finishing the 8k fourth overall in 26:34.3. The sophomore was followed closely by Jamie Cunningham who crossed the finish line just 20 seconds later, 26:54.4. Matthew Gill crossed the finish line in 13th place and clocked a time of 27:14.4, and Grant Smith finished the course in 28:04.1 to take 29th place overall. Charles Braddock rounded out the top-five runners for the Bulldogs, clocking a time of 28:18.0.
For the women's team, Emani Little recorded the fastest time in the 5k for The Citadel crossing the finish line in 19:24.3. Bethany Reeves was the next Bulldog to finish, recording a time of 20:07.7. Grace Jenkins (20:11.6) and Jessica DeWitte (20:33.2) finished in 35th and 44th place, respectively. Elizabeth Webster was the fifth Bulldog to finish, clocking a time of 21:04.3.
The Citadel will return to action on Oct. 31st when they head to Greenville, South Carolina, for the SoCon Championships at 10 a.m. Results will be available upon the completion of both races at CitadelSports.com.
