CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel rifle team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule Saturday in Dahlonega, Georgia, at the fourth Southeastern Air Rifle Conference competition.
The Bulldogs took third and fourth in the six-team field, with the co-ed team scoring 4,424 points and the women's team totaling 4,379. Host North Georgia won the team competition with 4,502 points, and Georgia Southern was second with 4,454. Georgia Military College finished fifth and Clemson was sixth.
Freshman
Allison Auten led all Bulldog shooters and was the fourth-highest aggregate scorer. She totaled a season-high score of 578 to take third overall in air rifle and 544 for an eighth-place finish in small bore. Sophomore
Colton Poole finished third in small bore with a score of 554 and was 13th with 562 in air rifle. Senior
Haley Osmer scored a season-high 549 to take fifth in small bore and also registered a season-high 561 in air rifle. Sophomore
Morgan Long's 574 points in air rifle placed seventh overall, and he added 540 points in small bore.
Junior
Richie Parra recorded season-high marks in small bore and air rifle, scoring 539 and 566, respectively. Freshman
Brandi Duzz scored a season-high 514 in small bore and totaled 555 in air rifle. Senior team captain
Amber Mills also registered a 555 score in air rifle and added a 523 in small bore. Freshman
Hunter Ferguson shot a season-best 536 in small bore and scored 553 in air rifle. Fellow freshman Tommy Simrill matched his season-high small bore score of 526 for the third time this season and scored 545 in air rifle.
The Bulldogs return to competition January 16 by hosting the first of three consecutive matches inside the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
