8/14/2025 10:30:00 AM

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel head rifle coach, Claire O'Neel, has announced the upcoming 2025-2026 rifle schedule, which features eight home matches for the Bulldogs.

The Citadel opens its season with Army on October 11 inside the Inouye Marksmanship Center, then hosts two home matches with a doubleheader on October 18 against Georgia Southern and Wofford, and on October 19 against North Georgia.

The Bulldogs travel to VMI for their first away match of the season on October 25, then host two matches at home against UAB and Jacksonville State on November 8. The women's rifle team will then compete against Jacksonville State on November 9. The Bulldogs head to Jacksonville State on November 15 to finish out the 2025 fall schedule.

The Bulldogs open the 2026 season with an away match at Georgia Southern on January 18, where the women's team will compete against Georgia Southern and the Air Force.

The Citadel will head back to Georgia Southern for the 2026 Southern Conference Rifle Championships on February 6-7.

The Navy will visit The Citadel for consecutive matches on February 14-15, with both men's and women's teams competing on February 14, and only the women's team competing on February 15.

The Bulldogs finish out the season with a home match against Wofford and North Georgia on February 21.

"I'm really excited for the upcoming season! We've built a strong foundation over the past two years, and I'm confident we'll see significant progress from the team," said O'Neel. "This year, we have the privilege of hosting both West Point and the Naval Academy—two incredible opportunities for competition right here at home."

"Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we've added four brand-new rifles and updated equipment, giving our athletes even more options to customize their gear for peak performance," said O'Neel. "We can't wait to see Bulldog fans at the range. Every match is open to the public, and we'd love for you to come cheer us on."
