Bulldogs Back in Action Sunday

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel wrestling team will head to Raleigh, North Carolina, on Sunday for the Wolfpack Open which will take place over the entire day.
Head coach Rob Hjerling is expected to take a total of 17 grapplers with him to compete, including all 10 starters. There will be approximately 300 wrestlers competing in the open with nationally ranked athletes in every division including NC State's own Nick Gwiazdowski who is the two-time national champion at 285 pounds. The redshirt senior took home first place in 2014 and 2015.
Multiple members of the Southern Conference are also expected to be in attendance with Chattanooga, Davidson and Gardner-Webb all competing.
The Citadel heads into the tournament after a week-and-a-half break since its last match against Anderson University. The Bulldogs came out victorious over the Trojans 35-13 and are currently 2-0 on the year.
The tournament will be held at Carmichael Gymnasium and live results will be available at TrackWrestling.com during the competition. Full results for all Bulldog wrestlers will be available at CitadelSports.com once competition has finished for the day.
