SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Fourteen cadet-student-athletes, including eight from the indoor track & field team, represented The Citadel on the 2014-15 Winter Academic All-Southern Conference Team.

In total 162 student-athletes earned comprised the Winter Academic All-SoCon team honoring the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track and field and wrestling.

Among representatives from The Citadel were Caillian Colquitt, Jessica DeWitte, Savannah Emmrich, Mariana Garcia and Nicole Ogilbee of the women's indoor track & field team. Their male counterparts were Richard Bertrand, Tony Cuccaro and Grant Smith.

The wrestling team was highlighted by four members, including Jack Duane, Matt Frisch, Aaron Hansen and Joaquin Marquez.

Citadel basketball was represented by P.J. Horgan and Ashton Moore, who previously were named to the 2014-15 CoSIDA All-District team for their academic performances.

To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA entering the winter season and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours in the previous two semesters.

The league's nine women's indoor track and field programs provided the most academic all-conference members with 68, followed by men's indoor track and field (nine programs) with 44 and women's basketball (eight programs) with 20.
