CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel Brigadier Foundation named Rob Hoak as its Executive Director on May 19, 2015. Hoak, who earned his business administration degree from The Citadel in 1978, spent his 37 years in banking, most recently with TD Bank.

Along with his daily professional responsibilities Hoak has served as a fundraiser for the $100 million capital campaign for The Citadel Foundation along with treasurer and executive committee member for The Citadel Brigadier Foundation.

As Regional President for the Carolinas at TD Bank, Hoak was responsible for overseeing 104 retail branch locations, 40 commercial bankers, three market presidents as well as loans and deposits that exceeded $15 billion.

Prior to that he worked for Wells Fargo and Wachovia where he served as the Regional President in both Greensboro, N.C. (2001-03) and Atlanta, Ga. (2003-06). In 2007, Hoak was promoted to Community Banking Segment CEO for eight states that included seven regional presidents, 90 market presidents, 100 community bankers along with total loans and deposits of $25 billion.

After earning his MBA from Wake Forest in 1983, Hoak began his career with First Union National Bank where he climbed the ladder from commercial relationship manager to DeKalk County Area President in less than four years. After accepting the same role in Savannah, Ga., from 1989-1994, Hoak became the Wholesale Banking Executive for corporate banking teams in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. He eventually became the Regional President of Eastern North Carolina before leaving the company in 2001.

Hoak is also actively involved in the American Heart Association Heart Bail Board, Governors School of Arts Board of Directors, Greenville County Museum of Art Board of Directors and the United Way of Upstate Board of Directors.

He and his wife, Allyn Hoak, have a daughter, Pearson, and a son, Robby.
