CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel placed two cadet-athletes among the first-team preseason All-Southern Conference selections by the conference's coaches, it was announced Wednesday.

Mitchell Jeter earned first-team accolades. The Citadel was one of four schools in the Southern Conference to have at least one first-team representative on both sides of the ball.
Frye started all 12 games last season, playing all 907 offensive snaps, and was named first-team All-Southern Conference. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native blocked for The Citadel rushing attack that led the SoCon and ranked second in FCS with an average of 347.2 yards per game. The Bulldogs' total of 553 rushing yards in their 63-56 win over Charlotte was the second-highest single-game total in FCS last season. The Citadel's offense also led the conference and ranked in the top 10 in the country in sacks allowed per game, tackles for loss allowed per game, red zone offense and third-down conversion percentage.
Jeter started all 12 games and was a second-team All-Southern Conference selection in 2014 after collecting 34 tackles, including 10.5 for loss with 6.0 sacks, three quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. His sacks and fumble recoveries totals ranked fourth in the SoCon, and he tied for eighth in the conference in tackles for loss. The Rock Hill, South Carolina, native was named Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-high 12 tackles, including 2.0 for loss, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble at Wofford.
