Cross Country Hosts Six Schools Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams will host the Will Wilson Citadel Invitational on Saturday at James Island County Park.
The women's 5k race will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the men's 8k race at 9:45 a.m.
The Bulldogs will host both men and women from Benedict College, Charleston Southern, Clafflin University, Morris College and Savannah State. USC Beaufort men's team will also compete. Medals will be awarded to the top 10 men and women in both Divisions I and II.
Both teams return to competition following a two-week break after competing in the College of Charleston Invitational. The men are led by Michael Lantz and Ross Jordan who took first and second place in the previous race, recording times of 25:46.8 and 26:05.7 respectively.
The women's team finished fourth and were paced by Grace Jenkins who recorded a 24:36.0 in the 6k. Jenkins was followed by freshman Bethany Reeves who finished with a time of 25:27.2.
Admission to the park to watch the day's races will be $1 per person. Results from the race will be available at CitadelSports.com at the conclusion of the competition.
