
Golf Rounds Out Competition in Terrier Intercollegiate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team wrapped up the 36-hole Terrier Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford on Tuesday, finishing sixteenth in the field at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
Participating teams included: High Point, Georgia Southern, USC Upstate, Appalachian State, Winthrop, Limestone, Samford, Wofford, Presbyterian College, UNC Asheville, Gardner Webb, USCB, Morehead State, Western Carolina and North Alabama.Â
The Citadel began competition on Monday, where the team tallied a first-round score of 334. On the second day of competition the Bulldogs would finish with a final score of 669. The Bulldogs were led by freshman Mackenzie Battle for the second consecutive tournament, who finished tied for 53rd in the field after shooting 18 over par in two rounds. She shot her lowest score in the closing round, posting a score of 78 ,the second lowest in her career.
Freshman Sarah Smith finished next in line with a final score 165 through two rounds. Ashlee Richardson, Marina Grimal and Nadia Sandler rounded out the field for the Bulldogs finishing.Â
The Citadel will return to action on in the Spring on February 25 as the Bulldogs host the Oyster Shuck Match Play in Mount Pleasant, S.C..
