CHARLESTON, S.C. – One of the most overlooked units in the triple-option offense is the wide receiver position. Despite being a run-oriented offense, The Citadel has a very strong group at receiver.
The group is led by redshirt sophomore
Raleigh Webb. He is coming off a season in which he caught 13 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried the ball five times for 76 yards and a touchdown. He caught a pass over 25 yards in six different games, including a season-long 61-yard reception against Clemson.
Junior
Curt Nixon will join Webb on the outside. Nixon caught four passes for 25 yards last season. He also plays a key role in the return game as he returned 17 punts last season.
Redshirt freshman
Cole Owens returns for his second season after working with the scout team last season.
Sophomore's
Cardan Williams,
Dijon Profit and Cam Roberts will all push for playing time on the outside.
The Bulldogs will utilize a tight end for the first time in several seasons. Redshirt junior
Attorney Gallman moves from the offensive line and will likely be the starter at tight end. Junior
Jordan Thomas moves from B-Back to tight end to add depth behind Gallman.
