CHATTNOOGA, TN. -Â The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department and the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs announced Cody Cleveland in the 2019 Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees last Tuesday.Â
The 2019 Class includes several All-Americans, who were all outstanding representatives of UTC. Now, head wrestling assistant for The Citadel, Cleveland was an All-American wrestler for the Mocs from 2006-11.
Cleveland was a 2008 All-American who guided the Chattanooga to three Southern Conference Tournament titles in his career. He was named the 2009 SoCon Wrestler of the Year and the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2009 SoCon Tournament.  He finished his career with 75 wins and three SoCon individual titles at the 141-pound weight class.Â
"We have been very fortunate to have someone as eager as Cody join our team this year. He focuses on the little details on and off the mat for our program and it has already grown in ways we couldn't imagine," said head coach Rob Hjerling. "The impact he has made in such a short time is noticed by the team, alumni and coaching staff and we look forward to putting more of his knowledge into play as the years go on."
"I'm so thankful for the years I spent at Chattanooga and am happy to be able to be imprinted in their history. I think I have been able to take what I learned there and translate to all of the athletes I've been able to coach so far," said Cleveland.
Cleveland and the Bulldogs will host Campbell this Sunday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. for Senior Day.Â
