Golf Finishes Regular Season at Edisto Island Invitational

EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. - The Citadel golf team wrapped up their final tournament before heading into next weekend's Southern Conference Championship as the Bulldogs took 16th overall at the Edisto Island Invitational.
The Bulldogs shot their best score in the second round of the two-day invitational by scoring a 320 as a team.
Andrea Hoos was the Bulldogs top finisher as she tallied a season-best score of 77 in round one where she tallied 13 pars and one birdie.Hoos would go on to finish 75th in the field with a three-round total of 249.
Ashlee Richardson recorded a score of 76 in round two to set her up for a 77th finish overall while Marina Grimal took 81st.
Sarah Smith and Nadia Sandler rounded out the field for the Bulldogs after finishing 82nd and 84th respectively.
North Florida continued its undefeated streak in the spring as the Ospreys took home the team title in the event. UNF finished 15-over-par for the tournament to hold off a late challenge from Delaware in recording their fourth consecutive tournament win.
Delaware (+18), Seton Hall (+22), College of Charleston (+25), and Xavier (+26) rounded out the top five teams in the tournament.
Delaware's Thitaree Sakulbunpanich and James Madison's Kate Owens shared co-champion honors over the three rounds. The duo combined to shoot 207, 6-under-par, to claim the titles. UNF's Lissette Davalos (-2), Delaware's Ariane Klotz (-1), and Xavier's Mikayla Fitzpatrick (E) rounded out the individual top five.
The Bulldogs will have two weeks to prepare for the SoCon Championships on Apr. 14-16 in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
