CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel Athletics, in corporate partnership with APECS, has announced that it will auction off 10 game-worn football helmets. The helmets feature the block C logo on one side and the logo of one of the five military branches on the other. There will be two helmets each for Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
 
The auction is part of the Oct. 12 Military Appreciation game against Western Carolina. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Johnson Hagood Stadium.

The auction will run through 5 p.m. on Oct. 18 with the opening bid set at $150. All proceeds benefit America's Mighty Warriors who support our veterans and Gold Star Families.
