CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel dropped a pair of hard-fought matches Saturday afternoon inside MCalister Field House. The Bulldogs fell 33-7 to Campbell, before falling 22-21 on tiebreaker criteria to Davidson in the second match.

How It Happened
- The Bulldogs got on the board at heavyweight as Michael McAleavey remained undefeated in dual matches with a 4-0 victory.
- McAleavey jumped out to a 2-0 advantage with a takedown in the first minute of the match. He remained on top the remainder of the period, and then opened the second period with an escape to go to 3-0. He added the bonus point for riding time for the final margin.
- Jake Rotunda kept his strong season going at 133 as he attacked early and often to earn the majority decision.
- With match tied 2-2 in the second period, Rotunda got the takedown and four points for the near fall. A short time later, Rotunda got another near fall and four more points.

How it Happened
- Cole Burke got the Bulldogs on the board as he was able to fight off a takedown at the end of the match. He jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a takedown in the first period.
- He extended his lead to 3-1 with an escape in the third period, then was able to maintain his balance and avoid one final takedown attempt in the final seconds to secure the victory.
- Kyle Kretzer continued the momentum at 184 pounds as he overcame an early takedown to rebound in the third period.
- Kretzer got an escape in the third period and then got a takedown of his own in the final minute. He was able to ride out the rest of the period on top to earn the bonus point.
- Michael McAleavey did what he does best and made quick work of his opponent at 285. He got the takedown early and then took his time to roll his opponent over and secure the fall at 2:29.
- Jordie White picked up a forfeit victory to extend the Bulldogs advantage.
- The Bulldogs suffered an unfortunate situation at 133 pounds as Jake Rotunda suffered an injury in the second period and was able to continue. The Wildcats were awarded six points.
- In one of the most exciting matches of the day, Selwyn Porter scored the final four points of regulation to force overtime.
- Porter was trailing the entire match until he pulled within two points with a takedown late in the third period. Just before the final horn sounded, Porter was awarded a point from stalling. His riding time point set the match into overtime.
- In the extra session, Porter got in on a single leg and was able to secure the takedown and the 9-7 sudden victory.
- Davidson picked up decisions in the final two matches and the score was tied 21-21.
- The teams remained tied through the first two tiebreaker criteria. On criteria C, Davidson was awarded a point based off total of match points and won the match.
