How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick start and opened an 8-2 advantage.

  • After a short run by UTC, de Jesus put away a kill to end the set.
  • The second set did not start out great for the Bulldogs as they found themselves trailing 21-15.
  • A service error from UTC was followed by an attack error, kill from Ali Ruffin and an ace from de Jesus.
  • After a timeout, the Bulldogs tied the set with kills from Ruffin and Gina Delancey.
  • UTC responded to take a 23-21 lead, forcing a Bulldog timeout.
  • The Citadel came out of the timeout by scoring three-straight points. The Citadel got a kill from Cardenas to set up set point, and Ruffin followed with a kill to end the set.
  • The momentum from the end of the second set carried over to third as The Citadel turned a close set into a runaway.
  • The Citadel used an 11-3 run to open a 20-10 advantage.
  • After UTC score two of the next three points, the Bulldogs closed out the match with four-straight points, taking advantage of a pair of Mocs errors.
